What Did God Do to Save Us from Death?
Because the world is wicked and all have sinned, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, The Messiah (Deliverer) for both Jews and Gentiles into the world as fresh, a man. For this purpose, Jesus (who was sinless) was the sacrifice for our transgression of the law (sins), by taking all of our sins (past, present and future sins), upon Himself so that we might be saved from the fires of Hell and a separation from God our Father in Heaven. Because of God’s great love for us He has done this. Jesus died on the cross by crucifixion. His last words on the cross were “It is finished.” This means the atonement of your sins is done with. Before Jesus was born of fresh He knew from the beginning of time what He would have to do. In John 1:1-5 we know this: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness comprehened it not.” (Jesus is the Word) 1
God Reveals His Love for You In The Gospel of John 3:16 we know this: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This does not mean eternal life as you know it on this earth, but a spirit life in Heaven with a new body. When God uses the word "so" as “For God so loved the world,” God is telling us that he loved the world more gloriously than we can imagine. His love is so strong for us that he offered as a sacrifice his only son, a perfect son who had no sin. Jesus was the Lamb of God. There is no one person who is sinless, therefore only a sinless, perfect person could cleanse us of our sins. In John 3:16, God reveals his love for us. God created us to have communion with him. It is man's mission to know God and to glorify him. Let us not forget this, that God loved us first, and that it is time for us now to love him, to worship him in spirit for he is spirit. To become a Christian you must recognize God, know Him, believe in Him and you are acquitted of your sins. If you turn away from God and reject Him, you are condemned. Step 1: To become a Christian you must first recognize and acknowledge God’s great love for you by what he did. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) CHRISTMAS SALE 35% OFF s

The Bible is many books in one, with one great purpose: to reveal the living Word of God, the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1-18)
Devotional Bible study is "reading and studying the Word of God in order that we may hear God's voice personally and that we may know how to do His will and to live a better Christian life." (Holy Bible Family Reference Edition KJV 1971, pg. 1086, Royal Pub.) Dr. Howard A. Kelley said: "The best way to study the Bible is to read it daily with close attention and with prayer to see the light that shines from its pages, to meditate upon it, and to continue to read it until somehow it works itself, its words, its expressions, its teachings, its habits of thought, and its presentation of God and His Christ into...one's being" How Do You Begin?
Ask yourself these questions:
Write down in your journal and take notes as you read, and after reading the passage. Read the passage a second time to firm up your answers and to gain deeper insight. Memorization It is good to memorize many verses or passages. For instance, you should memorize the Lord's Prayer. You might also want to memorize verses that speak to you more personably—verses that inspire you to live a Christian life. What is Inductive Bible Study? Inductive Bible study is applying inductive reasoning as an investigative approach. This is the process of gathering information and then drawing a conclusion. We do this with: 1. Observation (What does the passage say? Who, What, Where, When) 2. Interpretation (What does the passage mean?) 3. Application (How is the passage applied to my life? What does it mean for me personally? How does this truth affect me, my relationship with others, my relationship with God?) With inductive study you become involved with the Bible on a more intimate level. You Can Study The Bible Many Ways · By Chapters: There are 1189 Chapters in the Bible. You can study a Chapter a day. In just over three years you will have studied the Bible. · By Paragraphs. What is the main idea? Now rewrite the paragraph in your own words. Read again and rewrite. · By Verses: Break each verse down by separating nouns and verbs for deeper investigation. · by Books: There is the inductive method of study, which was noted. There is also the synthetic method, which entailed the student to read the Book several times until the message /main theme of the Book is clearly revealed. · by Words: Study great words: faith, belief, love, law, etc. · by Topics: Prayers, songs, sermons, God's commands, etc. · through Biography: God reveals Himself to men and through men: The life of Noah, the life of Abraham, etc. Family Bible Study Daily family Bible study brings the family together. This is very important for children. Study should be 40-45 minutes. Have a different member begin with a prayer. Read a Chapter. Have each member read a verse from the Chapter. Then ask questions. Every member should have a journal to record the study session. You can also start or finish by everybody singing a hymn Starting Your Daily Study You need a routine. Make Bible Study into a good habit. The best time to study is when your mind is fresh and well rested. Setting a study time right after you wake is a good time. Plan to study for 40 to 45 minutes with no breaks or disruptions. Here is how you do it: · Plan undisturbed time each day · Write Down your plan and purpose for study. What do you hope to accomplish? With a plan and a purpose you have an objective to achieve. · Prepare by praying first: (Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart.—Psalm 119:34). Many prayers are available in Psalm. · Read slowly and carefully. Do not rush yourself. · Ask questions while reading · Turn the scripture into a prayer Experience more with your Bible Study Journal, Prayer Journal and Worship Journal. Spend time everyday in God's word. It is worth it. Last April I ran this small, little story and since then, it has gotten a lot of interest. Therefore, I'm running it again for those of you heading out to Las Vegas for the New Year and would like an extra punch of motivation at the crap tables.
The California Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, has a wall of plaques dedicating craps players who have had long rolls. The long roll players are called Golden Arms. This illustrious handle started in 1989 when Stanley Fujitake held the dice for over three hours for 118 rolls. There is also a cast of Fujitake's arm on the casino floor. The Fujitake roll started shortly after midnight on May 28, 1989. The quiet man from Hawaii was to set in motion the Golden Arm. The California had a rule that the casino manager, John Repetti, was to be called (at anytime) when excessive losses were incurred on any casino game. After shooting the dice for an hour, Repetti got the first call at home. The casino was down over $200,000. Repetti advised the pit to call when losses mount to $100,000 intervals. The next call came fifteen minutes later, then another fifteen minutes later, and then another fifteen minutes later. After the fifth call Repetti decided to get dressed and go to the casino. The numbers on the crap table were completely packed with chips that the numbers could not be seen. Naturally, the table was also packed four deep. The action was heavy and the casino was now out of $1,000 chips. Fujitake's roll finally ended after three hours and six minutes. The California had lost over a $1 million from that table that night. If you are heading to Las Vegas this weekend and you have been prepping your shooting arm, get plenty of rest--you just might be the next Fujitake. Your mission: 119 rolls. Throughout history there have been many famous and more not so famous men, woman and children who have memorialized their thoughts by writing them down in journals. The father of our country, George Washington had a journal which he wrote in daily. Great inventors like Thomas Edison, explorers like Christopher Columbus, Lewis and Clark, children’s book author Beatrix Potter journalized their thoughts. And then there was Anne Frank, who memorialized her thoughts and her ordeal in what is known as “The Diary of Anne Frank.” Almost every notable person you could think of has or had practiced journal writing. All great thinkers have used journals—so, why not you and your children? Millions of others have recorded their thoughts and experiences in journals; and so should you. If it is worth living, it is worth recording in a private, personal journal. But what is a journal to you and your children? A journal is many things to many people. Here are a few reasons journals are kept: 1. Journals are kept to record personal experiences. 2. Journals are used as a way to stimulate thought and ideas. 3. Journals are used as ways to record and monitor work. 4. A journal is used as a personal record of one’s observations. Journals become learning tools for children and adults. By writing in a journal one accomplishes many things: 1. Thoughts can be organized. 2. Writing clarifies thoughts. 3. Writing helps students remember important concepts. 4. Writing in a journal helps students to think, to comprehend subjects more deeply. 5. Writing in journals builds creative and imaginative skills. 6. Learning is accelerated by writing. Why Should Your Child Use a Journal? Writing in journals is useful in many ways as noted earlier; however, for a child, journal writing is an excellent method for learning and also for discovering oneself in the process. Listed below are a few reasons your children should use a journal.
Try Using a Dot Bullet Journal or Notebook for Deeper Engagement Journal writing is for everyone, young and old alike. Have you tried using a Bullet Journal? For creatives, Bullet Journaling has become very popular. If you and your children have not used a journal, using a Bullet Journal could help with our creativity and imagination--it could be an awakening experience—an experience to last a lifetime. Give it a try. If your life is worth living, it is worth recording. When years pass, no one ever says “I wish I didn’t have a journal.” But as the years pass, many will say “I wish I had recorded my life in a journal.” The good times, the bad times, the sometimes daily malaise, birthdays, and family vacations and graduations; all are journal material. Get a journal today and begin recording your life. Five, ten, twenty years from now you will only regret you did not journalize your life. At www.MitchFreeland.com we have some of the best Bible, Prayer and Sermon Notes Journals for grownups and kids. You can also try our Dot Grid Bullet Notebooks. Starting a library of your own is an activity many successful people pursue. A library can consist of all types of books or it could be specific to a certain subject you are passionate about. For instance, if it is a business book library you are interested in building, then you have many options depending on your particular interest: there are books related to general business and business development; sales; investing in the securities markets; investing in real estate; and making money on the internet. There are thousands of business books available—and the place to start is in the area of your primary interest. If real estate investing is your primary interest, then begin with real estate investing books. When you start a business book library, you in essence, start your family on a journey of knowledge that can be passed on from generation to generation. A well crafted, well cared for book will last several generations and could educate dozens of current and future family members. The following are a few ideas you may be interested in pursuing once you’ve set your mind to building a lasting book library in your home. Setting a Monthly Budget on Books If your budget for learning from books is $100 per month, then you will be able acquire three to five books to your personal library each month. If your budget is $50, then you can acquire two to three books per month. What can you afford? It’s easier now than ever before to acquire books, review interesting titles, and purchase them online. A Sampling for Your Library Typically, when you begin the quest building your library, you will start with a sampling of educational books: Encyclopedia set, dictionaries, a selection of “how to” books, investing and investment related books, the classics in American literature and world literature, history and more specific books pertaining to your interests, your spouse’s interests and your children’s interests. These books could range from sporting or outdoor activity books like fishing or sailing to wild animal books for your child who loves animals. Most people build libraries over time, and they read the books as they acquire them. You may even become addicted to books and make it your mission to increase your library at every opportunity. A good way to do this and do it inexpensively is by being aware of city library book sales. Libraries always have an excess of books, and occasionally (about two times per year) have book sales. Books range in price from 25 cents to $1 or sometimes $1 per bag. You pay $1 and get a grocery bag and fill it with all the books you want. Once the bad is filled you can get another bag for $1. Library book sales are a great way to build your personal library. Estate sales and garage sales are other ways to find books of interest and value. Collecting Rare Books by a Specific Author, Genre or Subject Many collectors who want to build a personal home library search for books by specific authors they like, a specific genre that interests them (spy thrillers, pulp fiction, international adventure or travel) or a specific subject (real estate investing books, investing in the securities markets, books about entrepreneurship, fishing or gardening), any subject that interests them. Remember, your collection is not only an interesting hobby, but can also be a long-term appreciating investment. Specializing in Business or Investment Related Books If you are an active investor or wish to be one, an excellent way to begin is to start a business or investment book library. Attaining knowledge is important in any endeavor you pursue, but if you are interested in investing, you need to acquire the right information and attain the right knowledge to make correct decisions in choosing investment vehicles such as securities and real estate. Building a business book library can be a lifetime undertaking, because each year, new and informative books are published that hold a world of useful information—information you can use and benefit from. A well-balanced library with a selection of books covering diverse subjects is an amiable goal, and it is something you should strive to create for you and your family. Collecting First Editions To many, collecting first edition books in a specific genre has been a hobby that not only is fun and interesting, but also has the added benefits of creating value. Depending on the condition of the book, first editions are the most common form of collecting. Both new and experienced collectors seek first editions in fine or new condition. A Reading Copy and a Collectors Copy Collectors know the condition of a book is important and is directly related to the potential value to an investor. Therefore, many collectors buy a second or reading copy of the book. The reading copy is typically a used or recent paperback edition. The collector’s quality book is not used as your personal reading book. This is because you do not want to damage the book with heavy use or accidentally cause damage to it with stains, tears in a somewhat brittle jacket, or fingerprints from the oils on your hands and fingers. Your collector’s copy should not be handled very often. The smallest damage could devalue its price by hundreds of dollars. So, make sure to have a less expensive reading copy at hand when you want to read the book. Autographs Create Value Personally autographed books by the author are more valuable than non-autographed books. First edition autographed books in fine or new condition are even more valuable to collectors. Whenever you have a chance, try for an autographed copy in fine condition. You can search for autographed books on Abebooks.com for price comparisons. This will help you to understand the value of fine autographed books. If you haven’t already started building your personal home library, start today. It can be a very rewarding experience—an experience that you and your family will cherish for years. The great thing about a well developed library is that it allows you to access the information you need quickly and it is enjoyable and a worthwhile endeavor adding new books to your collection. This is an activity for the whole family. Reading can take you where you want to go, so share the adventure with your children. Remember, a person who knows how to read and does not read, is no better off than the person who does not know how to read. We all lose. Losing is, unfortunately, one part of the game which we may not understanding fully. Poker is a gambling game. And if you have played long enough, you could have run bad for days, weeks or even months. It happens. You may feel that you are playing well and that your opponents are pulling one and two outers way too frequently. But, what can you do? You are getting your money in good. And you are getting called by weak players. It's what you want. Sure, you had a 94% chance of winning the hand after the flop. Your opponent caught runner, runner and made a straight. He did have a 6% chance of getting there. But, how many times is this going to happen? And why is it happening right now? Why can't I win like I use to? Is the spirit world ganging up against me?
Emmet Fox said, "It is the Law that many difficulties that can come to you at any time, no matter what they are, must be exactly what you need at the moment, to enable you to take the next step forward by overcoming them. The only real misfortune, the only real tragedy comes when we suffer without learning the lesson." We have to learn from losing or the losing is nothing but losing. Are you making mistakes? Bad calls? Bad raises? Playing too many weak hands hoping to get lucky on the flop? We learn when we make mistakes. That is, the smart players learn by the mistakes they make. They reflect back. They replay hands over in their mind. Do you do this? Do you write down all the ways you should have played a hand you lost? If you do not do this, maybe you should? If you want to be a winning player for life, you will have to learn to analyze your losing hands. Why did you lose? You could have played the hand differently. Did you disregard obvious tells of your opponent? Could your results have changed? Most likely. There are countless pro poker players who were once bad players. They learned a lot from losing and became winners. You can do the same. Smart poker players learn from losing. If we do not learn, then we are destined to be losers. And that is not the road to bliss. Coming soon in August 2018: How to Become an A+ Student at Poker: Study Techniques to Master Any Game for Peak Performance. Get your copy at MitchFreeland.com. Not all casinos allow Mississippi Straddle. A Mississippi straddle will allow a player to post a straddle from any position, but most likely from the button, which is the best position to post. Different casinos have different rules. Some casinos will let a player only post from the button position and others from any position. Casinos also differ from where the action begins from the straddle. For example: when you post a straddle on the button, some casinos put the action on the small blind. Other casinos will put the action on the seat left of the big blind or the Under the Gun (UTG) seat. Now , if you are seated to the right of your target (your target is in the small blind or the big blind), you can go after him with a straddle, if it is likely few other players will call behind him if he is first or second to act. In any situation, you have good position to raise with anything reasonable even when a limper or two enter the pot. If the pot is min raised, you should 3-bet with anything reasonable. If it is a normal raise to you, access the raisers range and you could 3-bet if you believe the raiser is making a play. Fold to a tight player and call if you have a reasonable playing hand that is offering good implied odds if you hit your hand on the flop (small pairs and suited connectors). Also, if the target is likely to call the raise, then play more often, even with weaker hands like J8, Q9, and 87.
When the action falls on the UTG seat, and the UTG is your target, you occasionally straddle from the button when target is limping with lots and a straddle doesn't make a difference to him. Again, if there are limpers after your target enters the pot, raise with anything reasonable--and make your raise big. You have great position and you need to isolate your target. Example of Mississippi Straddle: The game is $1-$2 no-limit Hold'em. Your target is the UTG seat with a stack of $500. You are on the button with $300 and you straddle to $4. The action is on the UTG. He calls. Two others limp. There is $19 in the pot. You have K9. It is not a very good hand, but you have great position, so, you raise to $35. Everyone folds. This time, the only player is your target. You have 9♦ 5♦. Will a raise push out the small and big blind? This is a question you'll have to ask yourself? Many players are serious about defending their blinds especially the big blinds. So, you make a good sized raise to $30. Both blinds fold. Your target calls. Flop: 7♦ A♦ T♠ Your target checks. You have a decent flop: flush draw, backdoor straight draw, and the A is a good bluff card. You bet $40. He thinks for a while, then calls. Turn: 5♣ Target checks. There is $140 in the pot. You bet $100. He turns over KJ and folds. To learn more about how to improve your cash wins by aggressively isolating players, get your copy of Tactical Player Isolation at No-Limit Hold'em.
